Rory Keogh

President/CEO

Prior to co-founding Scaled Power, Rory was the Director of Power and Propulsion at Metis Design, where he led turbomachinery R&D development projects funded by DARPA, NASA and ARPAe. His is an expert in the field of small scale turbomachinery and its integration with electrical machines. Rory co-founded of Ventions, LLC and has worked at Mars & Co. and Boeing. Rory received his B.Eng. from the National University of Ireland Galway, and SM & PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Gas Turbine Laboratory).

Seth Kessler

CFO

Prior to co-founding Scaled Power, Seth was the President and Founder of Metis Design, where he raised $50M in R&D contracts between federal and commercial customers and licensed several patent portfolios to multiple large corporation. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of Structural Health Monitoring, and has spent the past 20 years developing innovative Aerospace technologies ranging from lightweight sensor infrastructures to deicing systems and novel conformal actuators. Seth received his SB, SM and PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he still advises students and periodically guest lectures.

Kieran Mitchell

VP of Business Development

As a founding investor, Kieran’s shares the vision of the transformative value of small, powerful generators for the aviation, and clean power industries. Kieran has transitioned a twenty-five-year career in sales and business development with Abbott Laboratories and Beckman Coulter to supporting Scaled Power’s goals of being the premier supplier of lightweight, clean emissions, turbine generators.

Kieran’s education includes an MBA in Strategic Leadership from Dominican University, California, CPA Examinations from the State of California, and Business Degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway.  

Greg Thomas

Lead Propulsion Engineer

Greg is responsible for the simulation and design of turbo-machinery and power-electronics at Scaled-Power. Prior to joining Scaled-Power he worked at Metis Design on turbo-machinery, ice-protection and wireless sensor projects. He has a diverse back-ground that includes providing input into the design of the Trent900 and Trent1000 aero-engines, designing the ventilation strategy for the Gardens-by-the-Bay Biomes in Singapore, and working as a tyre simulation engineer for the McLaren F1 team. Greg received MEng and DPhil degrees from Oxford University.
